Getting Gmail (Yes only Gmail)

You can also get your Gmail through db4.us . First, why Gmail only? That is because only Gmail (Google) is generous enough to provide an IMAP interface so db4.us can retrieve email for you. Hopefully, yahoo and hotmail will follow someday.

To get your Gmail, send the following text message to web@db4.us:

gmail register gmail.user.id gmail.password

You will replace gmail.user.id with your actual gmail user id, and gmail.password with your actual password. For instance, if your id is john.doe and your password is mypassword, you would send:

gmail register john.doe mypassword

The above will remeber your gmail account and password and a confirmation text message indicating the account and password are good.

After successful registration, to get a page of gmail subjects, send:

gmail page 1

The above will return the most recent page of gmail subjects, such as:

message 1:
subject: Hello from John Smith

message 2:
subject: Lunch today?

message 3:
subject: Happy Birthday!

...

You can replace page 1 by page 2 to get the second most recent page of gmail subjects.

To retrieve the email message, reply with the word "GMAIL" and the message number. For instance, if you want to get message 2 above with the subject: Lunch today? send:
